Don't know the details yet, except some kids were shot and a father put down the spree murderer.

The man who killed the shooter was Kaylub Giamanco, a 36 year old carpenter whose two kids attended the school. He was in the parking lot at the time. When he heard the shooting, he secured a .40 caliber handgun and ran to the doors that had been forced open. Upon entering the school, he saw a teacher struggling with the armed attacker. Giamanco fired one round killing the suspect.
This story of a good guy with a gun putting an end to a shooting and saving multiple lives is too big to ignore. Even the left has to concede the point.
Sadly; the photos of the faces of the deceased are starting to come out. None of us can fathom the level of evil that drives someone to murder a child.👍 1Comment

-------- Forwarded Message --------👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻Like and Share👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻2nd Amendment + Silver Rail Sat, 17 Oct 2026 07:55:20 -0700
To the Oregon Legislature, Governor Tina Kotek, and the Bend-La Pine School Board:
Yesterday, at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, three precious children and a young teacher were murdered in cold blood. Five-year-old Rhoam Summer. An eight-year-old boy whose family asked that his name not be released. An eleven-year-old boy whose family made the same request. And 25-year-old teacher Megan Lambert. A seven-year-old little girl and 54-year-old teacher Becky Drury were critically wounded.
Their blood is on your hands.
Oregon’s gun laws… especially the restrictions on concealed handgun license holders in public buildings and the authority given to school districts under Senate Bill 554 and expanded under Senate Bill 243… and Bend-La Pine’s own Board Policy KGBB-BP have turned our schools into soft targets. You deliberately stripped law-abiding, licensed adults of the ability to protect themselves and our children on school grounds. You posted the signs. You wrote the policies. You declared these places “gun-free.” And then a 16-year-old with a shotgun walked in and started killing kids in a special-needs classroom.
The Second Amendment exists for exactly this reason. It is not a privilege granted by politicians in Salem. It is a God-given right of free men and women to defend themselves and the innocent against evil. When you legislate that right away in the very places where our most vulnerable gather, you do not make anyone safer. You guarantee the opposite. Evil does not obey your signs or your statutes. Good men and women do. That is the entire problem.
A brave citizen… a father whose own children attend that school… saw the killer force his way in. He retrieved his legally owned firearm from his vehicle, entered the building, and stopped the massacre. By the letter of your law and the district’s policy, that hero was technically in violation the moment he brought that gun onto school grounds to save lives. Think about that. The man who prevented more slaughter was breaking the rules you wrote. That is how insane and reckless these policies are. Had a staff member already been armed and trained inside the building, this might have ended before the first child was hit.
Deterrence works. When it fails, the presence of an armed defender stops the body count. History and common sense both confirm it: a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun. Disarming the good guys only helps the bad ones.
There will always be evil people. The weapon is not the root problem; the human heart is. You cannot legislate evil out of existence by punishing the law-abiding. What you can do… and what you have refused to do… is give responsible, vetted adults the tools to protect the children in their care. Instead, you chose ideology over reality. You chose the false comfort of a “gun-free zone” over the hard truth that the only thing that stops a murderer with a firearm is another firearm in the hands of someone willing to use it.
Rhoam Summer was five years old. Five. He will never grow up. He will never play, never laugh again, never become the man he was meant to be.
The other two boys and Megan Lambert are gone forever. Their families are shattered. That is the price of your policies. Every day those policies remain in place, you are choosing to leave our children defenseless. That is not compassion. That is not safety. That is negligence with a body count.
It is time to restore common sense. Allow licensed, trained adults… including willing staff… to carry on school grounds. Stop treating the Second Amendment as optional in the places where it is needed most. Do it for Rhoam. Do it for every child still walking into a Bend-La Pine school tomorrow. The next killer will not care about your laws or your signs. The only question is whether the good people around him will be allowed to stop him before more innocents die.
The blood of these children and teachers is on the hands of everyone who wrote, passed, and defended these policies. Fix it. Now.
Sincerely,
A patriotic Oregonian who refuses to accept the slaughter of our kids as the price of political correctness

I wouldn't be surprised if the hero Kaylub Giamanco doesn't get arrested for taking a gun onto school property in that state.
