Trying to get a decent roofer in the island,

These are double pane glass, shatterproof, hurricane proof. The ones there withstood hurricane Ian that almost destroyed the island, even the roof held up, only two shingles broke off. Having been through a major hurricane before having all my shingles and paper blown off and getting my house flooded I want to protect this one as much as I can and a metal roof it is. Especially when I'm self-insured.

Like to waste money down here in sunny Fla.? Get a shingled roof. Half a dozen years and that sun is already starting to eat the dog piss out of it.
Then drive by an old house say 150yrs give or take and check out their nice 'metal roof' still going strong.

I have heavy duty shingles in the island, most insurance companies down here will tell you after ten years they will not cover it, the heat makes them so brittle they'll snap if you stare at them for a while..

Just told one roofer to take a hike, nice guy but I can't find the company in state records, the owner has another company with a delinquent roofing license in the department of Business and Professional Regulations.but the one presenting me a contract does not exist. fuck that. Number one out.

Second company, another guy real bad reviews, he was using some cheap mehicans used 1/4 inch plywood rather than 5/8 inch, a guy came through the roof and the ceiling on to the kitchen cabinets, destroyed the kitchen and claimed it wasn't their fault, they are in court. Number two out.

still deciding on the other two.
