This is big news. Haley Stevens was tapped by Barak Obama for her current position. She's a far-left Democrat and yet she was so disgusted with Abdul Al Sayed that she actually switched sides and is actively campaigning for conservative Mike Rogers.

Granted; I don't trust Haley Stevens as far as I can throw her, but I do find it incredibly significant that a leftist would abandon her entire political philosophy just to stick it to Abdul Al Sayed. It would be like one of us campaigning for Hillary Clinton.

I don't know all the details of what caused the rift, but it must have been pretty serious. It's no secret that Arab Muslims treat women poorly, so I'm sure that had a hand in it. In any event, a former adversary is now fighting for OUR guy. It took tremendous courage to do what she did. Even President Trump has weighed in on it.

One thing working against us is timing. Stevens made her switch pretty late in the game. Many of us have already voted.

Whenever I have any business with my township (taxes, voting, building permits, etc.) I ALWAYS do it in person. Why? Because it offers a human touch.

We joke, clown around, and exchange pleasantries. I get wind of any behind-the-scenes gossip, remain in the good graces of powerful people, and can offer assistance/advice when asked.

Most of them are genuinely nice people. As strange as it may seem, the county tax assessor and I have become tight. He rapes me on property taxes and then turns around and gives me great advice on some land purchases I'm considering. That is to say he's an honest guy who treats me no better or worse than any other citizen.

So sad. And now JB Backribs wants tax retirement income. It was literally the last good thing about living here.

Looks like Georgia has a new Gov. Keisha. Need I say more.

Went about as most of us here expected.

But hey my youngest will have a new HS to attend. “ Yay “

My predictions were totally wrong. Michigan lost the senate race and governorship. The races weren't even close: 10 point losses for each.

Nationally, republicans lost the house and senate. Many governor races went democrat as well.

Watching the news this morning it look like the US has been hit with a tidal wave of Blue. Many of the races were complete blowouts in favor of far-left democrats. Look for open borders again, higher taxes, and renewed assaults on the 2nd Amendment.

No doubt about it. We got our asses handed to us. At the very least, we'll be playing defense for the next 2 years. Worst case; the battleground states are lost forever to Marxist ideology.
