A pair of North Carolina siblings claim their late father is the ever-elusive Boeing hijacker DB Cooper after allegedly finding his parachute hidden in their home, according to a new report.

Chanté and Rick McCoy III claim their father, Richard McCoy Jr., was the infamous fugitive who disappeared when he leaped out of a Boeing plane with $200,000 in cash after taking passengers and crew hostage in 1971, the Cowboy State Daily reports.

I'll see if I can dig it up, find a link or something. There's a documentary that basically lays it out and shows that the FBI has been lying about certain key points to avoid looking incompetent. DB Cooper was Richard F. McCoy Jr. McCoy was one of the "copycat" hijackers, who successfully escaped with $500,000, but was arrested at his home. The FBI had previously looked into McCoy for the original DB Cooper hijacking, but had dismissed him as not suspect for 2 reasons:

1) DB Cooper both smoked and drank on the airline. McCoy was active in the Mormon Church
2) McCoy had an alibi verified not only by his sister, but his two young children. The family was "together for Thanksgiving" (DB Cooper did the hijacking on Thanksgiving Eve)

With the 2nd hijacking, and some lucky clues they found, the FBI was sure it was McCoy. The chute had been discovered by a young boy quite by chance. McCoy had made the mistake of not wearing gloves the entire time on the 2nd flight, and had left a finger print. They matched it to his Army service record (Green Beret, Chopper pilot with multiple jumps)

They went to his home, but the FBI screwed up bigly when they searched the McCoy home. They knocked on the door and it was answered by the 7 yr old daughter. They asked if they could come in, and she said yes and let them enter. Legally, a minor cannot consent to search of a home. This allowed the lawyer to get all evidence found in the home tossed out.

The FBI had eye witnesses that put McCoy at the 2nd hijacking, had the chute, the finger prints. They got the conviction for the 2nd hijack based on things not found in the home, but any evidence they had for the DB Cooper hijack was compromised and tossed out.

eta: Here's the documentary. Lays out lots of key points that the FBI lied about, including the weather conditions of the DB Cooper jump (it wasn't storming) the location, and then there's the fact that both of McCoys children admitted that they've known their Dad did both hijackings but had promised their Dad not to say anything until both parents were dead.

I'm assuming the siblings were heirs to DB Cooper's estate. They've already admitted Dad was the culprit. If so, would the siblings have to give back the $200,000?

If I were the aggrieved party that lost $200,000, I'd want it back. Jus' sayin'.

He survived the fall Snake but the sudden stop damn near almost killed him. I met Cooper in a bar down here in Florida. He was with Elvis and good old Jim yup Jimmy Hoffa. Cooper gave me the map where the $$ are he wrote it on a bar napkin. Napkins in my room some damn place. I will post the map when I find it if you guys swear to God you won't tell anybody?
