Went to the store for bread and milk, came out of the store and found a geezer walking around my truck. I opened the trucks Right door and set my purchases on the seat, while continuing to be aware of his presence. I closed the door and turned to face him. He, began to piss and moan about high food prices being Trump's fault. And then said, "your a Trumper arnt you?" and " this is all his fault." I replied that, "Trump has not been in office for four years, so how could it be his fault?" He replied, "it all started when he was president and has only gotten worse." I told him to "stop getting his news from the homosexual Communist News Network and MSNBC." He replied, something about "how I should be locked up." I replied, "have you always been a commy dick sucker, or is it just lately?" At that point, I realized I was, arguing with an old fool. I walked around my truck, got in and left.

I also realized that being strapped must now become a way of life with so many zombies roaming about. The danger levels have risen considerably since November 5th. Very sad indeed. I have Vietnam Veteran license plate frames on my F350 4x4.

Leftists are wired differently than conservatives. No conservative would hang out in a parking lot and try to ignite a contentious political debate with a complete stranger. It's just stupid. He didn't know who you are, what kind of day you just had, or what you're capable of. All he saw was a combat veteran license plate. I have an Iraq license plate. I'm not sure if that's made me a target for people wanting to debate. If anything, I think it probably has the opposite effect. Many civilians think combat veterans are unhinged lunatics who can snap at any moment. Hollywood shapes their perceptions. This perception can be used to your advantage in the right situation though.

I've had similar encounters with leftists wanting to challenge me. Most of the time, I politely deflect the conversation into a different topic. I've got a pretty good success rate in doing this. Those who don't get the message are met with rude and abrupt treatment. I never debate them, because that's what they want. Instead; I find it much more effective to brush them off with a rude, dismissive comment and walk away. Something like: "Get lost. I have places to go."

My wife has a liberal friend who has basically lost most of her family and friends because wherever she goes, she wants to spout her political beliefs. People got tired of it and dumped her. Nobody wants to be around her any more, even people who share her opinions. Even her husband, who should have retired years ago, chooses to continue to work just to keep away from her.

I had a run in with an older guy before Thanksgiving who was carrying a putter in his cart in the grocery store. He insulted my wife, and when I said something to him about it, he started pulling that putter up. I let my jacket fall open slightly and he decided he needed to be somewhere else. Earlier, I'd seen him raging in the parking lot at someone for not loading their car fast enough so he could have their parking spot.
