A manhunt is underway for an illegal alien suspected of raping an eight-year-old girl.
According to CBS12, authorities are searching for 37-year-old Jesus Tamanis-Peralta, who is accused of raping a young girl over many years.
He is also accused of having filmed himself commited the diabolical acts and distributing the footage to others since the child was eight years old. She is now a teenager.
Law enforcement currently believe that he is seeking to cross the border and reach his home town of Veracruz.
“I would say this to Jesus Perlata, we are after you. By God’s grace, we’re going to get our hands on you before you get to the Rio Grande,” Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said on Tuesday.
Snyder added that authorities need to catch Perlata before he reaches the border or there is a high chance he will never face justice.
“The problem will be if he gets across that border, he’s home free,” he continued. “The extradition from Mexico is a nightmare. They rarely cooperate.”
“I would suspect that if he does cross the border, he’s going to escape American justice,” he added.
According to investigators, Peralta has been on the run since the alleged victim’s mother confronted him about the abuse on December 3rd.
“My concern is for my victim, who at 8 years old, was sexually battered. I want to get my hands on this guy,” Synder added.
He was reportedly sighted in Bradenton on Florida’s west coast last Thursday.
However, he is now understood to be in McAllen, Texas, around 10 miles away from the Mexico border.
The crimes are reported to have taken place in Florida, where thesentence for raping a child ranges from life imprisonment without parole to the death penalty.
