    Buds gun shop

    Anyone use buds gun shop?

I’ve seen they have layaway and it’s tempting to put something on their 180 day layaway.

I hate financing anything but there layaway program seem reasonable. Credova and similar lenders can burn.

    Anyone have experience with them?

I haven't bought anything from them on layaway and dang sure won't on credit. But, I get their e-mails and in their ads, they only show the monthly payment on the gun and not the total price with is a shitty used-car lot move.

If you can't afford to pay cash, you can't afford the purchase. I have only one monthly nut and its my mortgage because I'm not a millionaire.

I keep several accounts open just to keep my credit score up. But I do agree with the quote otherwise. In 2014 when i escaped a liberal shithole. I had been living debt free for over a decade. Try to finance a bank repo of a home...with an almost not existing credit score. I was required to place a large down payment toward a mortgage that had what I consider to be a shit high interest rate. That lasted a couple years. With a (then) credit score of 800...I refinanced to 2.5%. My present equity in my home has increased sufficiently that I'm happy as a hog in fresh mud.

The banks etc., have us by the short hairs if when we seek financing w/o current and acceptable credit ratings.

Never charge living expenses on a CC. So many lose their asses/homes/family... that way. Its what happened to.the family that used to.live here. Sad. Living in a car or a tent alongside the road is not for this vet.

          .

I buy gas, restaurant meals, costco, and other incidentals on a cash back credit card. I pay the balance every month with no interest. They give me 500-600 bucks back every year. Cash.

This is a timely thread. I just ordered a Glock 43X and my wife ordered some Walther .22 Magnum handgun thing from Bud's Guns. I've ordered from them before and never had a problem. They seem to be a good company and they have my trust.

As for "layaways", or payment plans. That's a hard pass for me. If you can't afford to pay for the item outright, you can't afford it.

I've bought guns on layaway locally. It was a case of they had it in stock, it was difficult to find and I didn't have the full purchase price on me and didn't want to put it on a credit card. So, layaway takes it off the shelf until I come back with the full price.

Doesn't matter anytime you see "finance" in laymen's terms it reads-
"Congratulation on your purchase of a Hubbell telescope as that is the only way you can read this fine print. Between interest and fees when were done with you your going to feel like you just got raped in Dana Mora's prison showers by the entire cell block C. So just keep sending us money till we tell you to stop. Contact us for a loan so you can purchase ammo. Enjoy your purchase cause we enjoy your money. Happy shooting."

Apparently the HK P2000, P2000SK and iirc the VP9sk are being discontinued( although I’m still looking for an official announcement).

I’ve wanted a P2000 for a while but getting a USP was the priority for me.

Hence me asking about Buds. I wanted a CZ TS orange but missed the announcement. Missed out on those, don’t want to miss again.

I do the same, everything goes on a cash back card and gets paid off at the end of the month. NEVER take out a home loan, line of credit or money out refinance to pay off credit cards or a car, credit cards are unsecured debt, don’t pay and you get a bad credit rating for a while but if you don’t pay your mortgage you lose your house.

I hate those USAA or whoever they are commercials telling vets to get money from their equity to pay off bills, they ought to be shot for screwing people up.

in a nutshell, if you don’t have the money you don’t buy.

edit : it's New Day USA.

I wanted to buy a Zastava M77 rather than build a kit that required a new barrel & milled receiver. Bud's had it in stock @ full price with one mag & a scope base & it still had to be sent to a FFL to be transferred. The shipping, transfer fee & other costs, plus waiting a week to get it was a good reason not to buy it.

So, I called up my local funshop to inquire what their charges were to do the transfer & the sales guy asks what I was looking for. After telling him, he states that they got one for sale for $100.00 less than Bud's, plus no shipping charges, no transfer fees & it was available immediately with all the accessories. After going to the gun store to see the rifle, I bought it.

Bud's lost the sale & I kept my $$$ local, plus paid cash for the rifle. That is my only dealing with Bud's.

I live debt-free. It has worked great for me. The few times in my life, I strayed from the rule, things never worked out well.
