No I took the total distribution on two pensions I had back in July. I had with holding held when I cashed in to the tune of $30K plus I took a $12K distribution from my 401K. Total income was $216K not like I'll ever see that kind of yearly income again.

DOGE just went into the IRS today.

            Could get interesting.

🚨 #BREAKING: DOGE officials have just entered the IRS building in DC to begin their investigation into the agency This comes after 𝕏 users OVERWHELMINGLY voted for DOGE to dig into the IRS just days ago. WE THE PEOPLE are in charge of our government again! 🇺🇸 https://t.co/8SFS9CwMss

I just completed mine this afternoon. I owe an additional $5252 thanks to cashing in a bunch savings bonds from decades ago that were no longer earning interest. Plus I started collecting SS middle of last year.

Life was easier come tax time when I was "poor".

One financial advisor one told me to convert everything to ROTH IRA...I looked at him and told him off, "You want me to lose 33% of that money right off the top, are you nuts?. We never chose him. Don't take a distribution until you are old enough to do so and are fully retired, otherwise you get shafted. Even then you will get shafted.

I retired in January 2024, this was the first year in 35 years I received a refund $2,700.00. I am used to claiming 0 dependents single and still having to pay another $5,000.00 between state and federal taxes. Of course my financial advisor set aside money for taxes on my distributions.

God bless gun friendly Florida. Homestead taxes if you are disabled SS or a disabled Veteran $475.00 that's it. Big house little house that is what you pay. The list is super long on benefits taking care of Vets down here.
My cousin a retired V.A. disability officer explained to me how thousands $$ in benefits go unused by Vets because they do not look into all kinds of things that are readily available for free . Veterans service groups and politicians fought hard to get Vets benefits look into them.

$1,000 a month holy sheeeet Merc. Komifornia is highest in the country for taxes and I guess you guys are next in line? No wonder the rents in the city are $3,500 for a one room apartment. Our family home in Connecticut was pushing $8,000 a year. All the commie Blue states lead the way for taxes and cost of living in general.
People are moving out to saner tax friendlier states by the tens of thousand from Dem, they got sick of supporting corrupt politicians and ILLEGALS.
Hell even mega billionaire Pres. Trump moved his residency to Florida.
