Yeah, she had no business piloting that plane.

The media does not know shit about aviation and they really should just shut the fuck up. I watch the video of the crash and it looked like the right landing gear failed. I have yet to read that this was pilot error. Calumniating the alleged pilot to make political points is just pathetic. The fact is planes crash and people die and that is a fact of life. Women have been flying since the airplane was invented--I trained plenty of them. There is nothing wrong with a woman pilot.

Same here looked like the right-side landing gear failed. It didn't appear to me to be locked when it was coming in on its approach.
But hey what do I know just a guy watching a video.

No sir sorry buddy your wrong on this one. She was NOT supposed to be landing that plane. She Kendal Swanson was due to be an above way above average commercial pilot. But along came Delta and D.E.I. and she was put in the pilot flying position which she was NOT technically allowed to do.
She needed some training certificate which she didn't have. Plus the cross winds their investigating as they might have been above the limit allowed by Delta.

GARANDNUT this is from another post here. Being old and bored I have been been listening to commercial pilots give their explanation of what went wrong. Their all saying the same thing now are they right? Who knows but one thing is for sure that D.E.I. chick flying had no 0 business landing that airplane.

That's cool good for your grandson smart young man. Oh this young lady was good with that Ontario crash. Top of her college class super high ratings with commercial pilots exams just a future nice woman good pilot. But? She was not certified qualified or ready to land that plane on a rough runway with a possible to strong a crosswind to legally land.
The pilot in command for sure must have told the poor kid to give it a go you can do it or you can bet she damn sure would not have had the stick.
Does Delta know their is a 'serious' problem with this? Airlines are tough to sue and for them to just start handing out those checks? Hmm. I would not take their check and be on the phone looking for the next 'Dream Team' Cohen Cohen Cohen and O'Toole. Do we sue em and how. 😉

The latest from the analysis I have been a fly on the wall to is the plane was hit with wind shear right as whom ever was flying rounded out the airplane slamming onto the runway causing the gear to collapse--this would explain what looks to me like a high the sink rate. It was not the crosswind that caused the sudden abrupt sink rate. The right wheel touching down into the wind was correctly done but something caused the plane to sink. If it was an excessive sink rate on the approach the PIC fucked up by not catching it. IF it was wind shear that close to the ground Chuck Yeager could not have saved the airplane. Also, I am still not convinced that the gear did not just collapse. The pic of the right wing after the crash shows the wheel folded into the well. If the gear failed due to an excessive hard hit it would not have been neatly folded up. These airplanes are not that fragile and will take an extremely hard lick on the gear without failure. I have seen airplanes break spars and bend fuselages by a hard landings but the gear stays in place locked down.

I do not pretend to understand airline rules but if she is riding right seat there is no prohibition on her landing the plane unless, again there is some internal policy. As far as the FAA is concerned it is legal. I have flown corporate commercial flights in both the right and left seat and switching off flying duty was a common practice. Flying passengers for hire is NOT an approved training flight. She was either rated in the jet or she was not. If not then Delta has some serious explaining to do.

Not to debate yah buddy but all I know is what commercial pilots I am listening to are commenting. She was landing that plane she is or was one of the best up and coming future pilots Delta was grooming. But the problem? She needed some training certificate to legally land that plane which she did NOT have.
How do they know she was landing? The male pilot with her was doing all radio communications while she had the controls. Airline companies are almost impossible to sue after and accident. Well Delta is handing out $30,000 checks to everyone that was in that plane including the pilots as fast as they can put a stamp on the envelopes.
Your the expert buddy I am just repeating what the pilots are saying. But I feel Delta ruined that poor girls career maybe and I will bet money they got themselves some BIG legal problems coming up. Thank God everyone lived either way.

There definitely could be some strings attached to those $30,000 checks. Mainly being if you cash the check, you're agreeing not to take any legal action against Delta. 🤔

Shit happens in aviation regardless of who's driving. There are just too many factors involved which are obvious to real pilots but not to the general population. I too watched the video, Garandnut is right, excessive sink rate, maybe a micro-burst or residual turbulence from a previous landing and a failure of the main gear, once one wing hit the ground and the other was still producing lift the plane just flipped. By the way some of the best aerobatic pilots in the world are women and they'll make men puke at 9G's
