Now it is much harder for Ukraine to hold its territory on the battlefield.

Personally I think handing Ukraine to Russia rewards Russian aggression and will result in Russia trying to take the Baltic states in 3 years.

It wont take much to push Russia into a collapse at this point. Just give UKR missiles to knock down the cracking towers at Russia's top 30 refineries. No fuel, no war.

Don't give me a bunch of baloney about saving lives (no one cares), or Zelensky is corrupt (so is Biden...), or Zelensky uses cocaine (he can snort all of the coke in the western hemisphere as long as he kills Russians and I will be happy).

Russia is occupying Chinese land in Siberia. All China has to do is walk across the boarder. Then they gain what they never had, energy resources. They will no longer be dependent on outside support for their energy. This will make China a leviathan over which we have no control. Russia, like it or not, is a bull-work against this. The Chinese and Russians are not allies. They fought boarder skirmishes as recently as the 1970s. It was China that Putin threatened with nuke war when he said no country should attempt to take advantage of the war. This was not directed at the US. Also, we have seen the Russia will not yield. They will fight to the end no matter what it takes. Will the US do this? No, most of the population sees no point in this other than the fossil neocons of which you are one. We pissed away a victory in Afghanistan because the machine wanted more blood and endless wars. They do not understand however, what is at stake here. This is not some mild proxy war they can work both sides and fight forever. Also, a peace deal at least preserves what is left of Ukraine. If the lines collapse then the entire country will fall and Russia will be right on the boarder with Poland. Their troops are battle hardened and they have learned how to cope with drone warfare. They have access to our weapons now and will know how to counter them. Also, we have been sending our weapons reserves to Ukraine and those are not being replaced at a fast enough pace to ramp up in months to fight this.

Global realignment. Zelensky is done. We will run Ukraine. Russia will retain the eastern areas populated by Russians. NATO is no longer relevant. EU will need to do some soul searching and figure out who they want to be. The post WW2 world order is being redefined.
