This is all new, when we came here all we got was a welcoming smile. No Social Security, no Medicare, Medicaid, some people applied to get some food relief, mainly Spam and a cheese bar, we didn't (or I should say my parents didn't) but my dad had attended school here, my mom had attended an American school in Cuba, we all spoke English and we started from the ground up again. I started working when I was fourteen, $20 a week, it was a lot. Eventually everything fell into place. Never got anything I didn't pay for, many times in advance. Made it to the top 3% and I'm 100 American, just born someplace else. We owe this country, this country does not owe us.

Yup most of the Cubans came here and did good for themselves. Oh their was Americans who were against their settling here but the vast majority understood their was mitigating circumstances by that entity called 'communism.' Real anti communists not ILLEGAL B.S. like we have at our border now.
Eventually with the Jewish population in Miami getting old the Cubans took over and did well for themselves and helped America. How? People understood we had a strong contingent of anti commies to our south. Cubans are tough the commies weren't coming that way to get us. 😁
