The frigging idiot could damn near have gotten a lot of people killed. That job appears to required total concentration and you see the controllers glued to the screen. My last time flying was with Delta. They were pushing the diversity shit big time. I won't fly with them anymore. It's bad enough being cramped in one of their planes let alone hearing their diversity advertisement crap

In my experience people who do this sort of thing; like flying off the handle and beating up co-workers, usually give off warning signs way beforehand. They're usually lousy employees, argumentative, aggressive and mouthy. Resorting to violence is how they grew up and is the natural progression of their behavior. As a minority, it's very likely that his employer was afraid to discipline or terminate him for fear of legal action. I know I would. So everybody just had to take it until he finally pushed too far.

On the positive side, there's no recovering from assault and battery. Termination is automatic and simple. The skies just got a lot safer.

There was a news story a while back about a Black ATC trainer who was helping Black students cheat on their ATC qualifying exams. They finally caught the guy, but there's no telling how many minority controllers were ushered into their jobs without proper qualifications.
