Let me see if I can post these two charts. One shows the trade balance or unbalance since just about 1970 when we started kissing China's ass,. the other chart shows who has really benefited from this trade unbalance and it's the middle to low class oriental folks. not us. Trump gave one of his best speeches the other day about all this. Short term pain will ultimately result in huge long term financial gains for America. Made in USA will mean something again, like it did when we were growing up. MAGA👍 1Comment

The market will recover and the economy will recover, just hang in there. As Pogo said, some 40-50 years ago we started kissing oriental ass and gave it all away. If we don't do this we're doomed. Last weekend I went and got my wife a new car, before the shit hit, I knew what was going to happen. Klaus You still have a few weeks before prices jump up, better hurry.Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.👍 1Comment

Clinton was the one I recall who put us on the path to his stupid "service based" economy. That's where manufacturing really accelerated to overseas. I just hope this down turn is short lived. Congress should have done this, not an executive order, but congress hasn't been doing jack shit for years other than kick cans down the road. The market will recover and the economy will recover, just hang in there. I think it was Jimmy and our beloved Nixon who first broke the ice with China and allowed for this to happen.Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.👍 2Comment

Didn't GHWB mention switching to a service economy? My memory might be fuzzy on that.

The so called "service based economy" was a thing as far back as the 1980s. This was all done to line the pockets of the investment class who wanted huge untapped markets like China. Their plan was to enrich China at the cost of US autonomy and manufacturing then ride the wave of growing wealth in the Chinese middle class, aka inner party rich, who would then demand US and Western goods in particular technology while giving US companies cheap slave labor. It was Bill Fucking Clinton that lifted the ban on PC sales to our enemies like China. It was all a pump and dump scheme from the beginning with no real interest in sustainable growth in the US economy. This very same investment class created the fake company phenomena of the 90s where companies with zero product, liquidity or growth, create a pie in the sky speculative product that then goes public and investor manufactured hype drove the fake companies stock to stratospheric levels, even though said company had no earnings, only to collapse months or years later. The same scheme reemerged in the housing market.
There is a reason the richest companies and men in the world are "investment" management firms. They produce nothing but they have grown enormously wealthy with junk investments and churning investment accounts which they all manipulate with media hype.
The so called "pain" in the market is manufactured. The stock jobber in collusion with the FED can tank a good stock and pump a shitty one. Tesla is a prime example of this. By all metrics the economy is in good shape. Jobless numbers are down and inflation is the lowest it has been since 2022 yet the market is complete shit. If you watch gold, while it is up right now, it is not being purchased as a hedge as you would assume it would be if the investment class was really concerned about a crash. What they fear is not a collapsing US market that they all abandoned 30 years ago, it is an end to their artificial steroid based investment economy China and to some extent, the entire Asian rim has given them.👍 1Comment
