(AP) — Top administration officials said Sunday that more than 50 countries targeted by President Donald Trump’s new tariffs have reached out to begin negotiations over the sweeping import taxes that have sent financial markets reeling, raised fears of a recession and upended the global trading system.

Trump, who spent the weekend in Florida playing golf, posted online that “WE WILL WIN. HANG TOUGH, it won’t be easy.” His Cabinet members and economic advisers were out in force Sunday defending the tariffs and downplaying the consequences for the global economy.

This whole narrative ought to illustrate that Europe is not our friend they are freeloaders. I do not understand why this is so hard for most people to get. The US worker has been getting the shaft for as long as I have been alive and suddenly all this rightous indignation over Trump simply saying if you want to trade with the US you will do so fairly or not at all. They think they are entitled to our tax money and markets. The reality is their economies are dependant on fucking our markets and it is time for it to end.

By the way when are those super EU solders going to Ukraine? The Brits, French, and Germans said they are sending them to fight Russia. Well lets see it, put your money where your mouth is--we are a month out and nothing, I am waiting Euro-trash.

For years and years some of us welcomed that Wally World Super center moving near us. Put the local hardware out of business? Ah sorry bout their luck I got my stuff cheaper at Wally World. Hey hold on it doesn't say 'Made in the U.S.A.' on this tag it says made in China. Damn.. Ah it works its cheap who cares.
Meanwhile in China people are leaving the farms for slave labor in the cities their gonna get rich. It turned into mass migration to the cities a Chinese industrial revolution. Whoa their getting rich those poor farmers. Hey wait our local stores are closing our neighbors are out of work their factory closed. Damn.
Nobody gave a damn as we watched mega billions $$ of our dollars head to China. China had to buy our treasury notes to keep us from sinking. Not just China now lots of countries jumped on this money train. The recent open borders here with American manufactures seeking cheap labor to compete? Whoops that didn't work. What the hell to do?
Then along came the Lone Ranger Pres. Trump and he said the party is over boys buck up if you want to use us to get rich. I don't care if I have to pay twice the price for my next import purchase. I stand with Pres. Trump. ENOUGH OF THEIR SHEEET. MAGA. 👍

I hate to say it but you are right, many countries do depend on us for their economy but not the big ones though. Spain, Italy and France are pretty much self sufficient, about the only American thing you see there is a Coke can. Italy produces everything in house, weapons, cars, furniture, food, they don't need anything from anybody. Now as far as NATO security, yeah...we shouldn't have to carry them.

Yup 100% enough sending our youth to be the world police and getting maimed or killed helping all these foreign countries in their time of need. Helping? Maybe but cept for England or Australia they sit on the couch watching the damn show while our youth fight. Most of the mother friggers are burning our flag as soon as we leave their sheeet hole countries.

I hate to say it but you are right, many countries do depend on us for their economy but not the big ones though. Well you are sort of right. However, they trade in our currency, depend on our navy to keep the sea lanes open, have little energy independence except France maybe, they rely on our bond market, they are dependent on our technology, space infrastructure, internet architecture, pharmaceutical products and the list goes on and on. They might make cars but they do not buy ours because tariffs they put on our vehicles make them unaffordable. The stability we bring through our military made all of this possible. The EU was conceived as a counterbalance to the US. They thought they would bury US yet over 30 years later they have not delivered. They pretend to be self sufficient but they are not.

In '96, I wrote a paper about the folly of a "service economy". I was able to back up everything I cited and defend it against scrutiny, but I was "just an undergrad", so nobody wanted to take it seriously.
