    Golf cart ordeal.

So we bought a six passenger street legal golf cart to use at the island, we were supposed to receive a license plate within two weeks, went out bought required insurance and everything. Two weeks go by and no plates so my wife called the guy " Oh we lost the manufacturer's papers from the car, and yeah but no, we're working on it, I call you right back"..He calls back, "I had you confused with another cart, yours we had a problem because it shows that it was already registered to somebody else, so they now have to sign the title to us so can can sign the title to you"... BY this time I get involved and called the guy, "Look Wayne, I will not be accepting a car that was already sold to someone else and makes me a second owner, if that's what you're going to do I will have to get my lawyer involved in this to sort it out with you" "Lawyer..I have nothing else to talk to you about" and hung up on me. So I got a number for the corporate office and spoke to the assistant to the CEO, she already knew what was going on so I told her " The best way to solve this without any liability on either side is for you to get me another cart fresh off the lot, just make sure it has everything I paid for, that is, extra street lights, sound system, long range battery, beach chair holder, etc. She calls me back "Yes, we will replace it Saturday morning. So Friday we take off to the island, I had some things to do there anyhow, Saturday here comes the delivery guy, car looked the same, opened up the battery compartment...a smaller battery. That did it. Oldest son was there too, he said "Take both of the carts back, we not accepting delivery and Tell Wayne I'm on my way there.

My son is a very intelligent guy, and just his physical size and voice intimidates people. Went to the dealer, and the place was packed with customers, grabbed the guy and told him "Let's go into your office and close the door" I read your contract and it says No Refunds but it also says you have to deliver what my father bought and twice you have failed to do so, you are in breach of contract, unless you all want to get tied up in court and loose more than what we paid I suggest you refund our money. Guy made a call ...yes sir. My son said, OK sit at your computer now and write this, he dictated to the guy...print it and sign it. We will getting the check from the main office within two weeks. Now I have to cancel the insurance.

Binelli or Bintelli Golf Carts.....never buy one. crooks, I tell you, either crooks or just stupid people who can't get shit right.

Crooks? I don't know Fred I really feel the majority of the problem is the help these companies are hiring. They can't find people to work for them with a functioning brain or who really care if you got the correct battery or one they did not have to walk 10 feet more to get. I used to eat out a lot now? Local restaurant we got raw French fries literally soaked in grease. Damn.
Trip to the Lowe's box store for materials? Employee did NOT know what I meant by '2 by 4s' that I needed. What's that? Holy sheet. Not just bad help like NO FRIGGING help. I think their was half a dozen employees working the whole damn store. Prices have gone up but it seems you must fight all the time to get what the frig you paid for.
Next time with that cart your buying don't go in the office. Start yelling in front of all the customers they usually will do anything to shut you up. 😁

The level of “I don’t really care” has really gone off the scale lately.

The biggest problem we've had is with contractors. We've hired plenty in the last 5 years: electrical, well drilling, roofing, tree service, etc.... Sadly, only about half of them met and exceeded our expectations. The rest were mildly or greatly disappointing.

Most of the time, things we purchase have been OK. Permissive return policies with online orders have helped. Wife is currently dealing with a warranty issue with a Walther pistol she purchased. As expected, they're being less than responsive. She's dealt with this sort of thing before and is actually better than me at getting it worked out.

It's too bad some businesses have to be like that. Can you imagine going to work every day knowing that you're screwing over people? That's gotta suck.

I have found good contractors in the island. One guy fixed the broken shingles on the roof, sent me pictures and I sent the money to him, then I needed something else done, again he showed up on time and did more than what I expected, he got paid when done. Needed a plumber there to replace the toilets (they were too low for us tall people) I let the guy in remotely he did a good job (of course I have cameras throughout), an autistic plumber very detail oriented, nice kid. That island only has like 2500 permanent residents and everybody knows everybody so it's a good place.

They are probably used to dealing with scared old people who are afraid to make waves, so just do whatever they want to do.

                Our best contractors:
Roofing: Amish-owned company. Installed standing seam metal roof. Super thorough and precise.
Tree Service: Performed death-defying acts of bravery to take down 80' tall white pines. We've had them out here 3 times and I'm very good at felling trees; but not near as good as these guys. Not even close

                The worst:
Most of the time, you won't even know how bad they were until months after they leave, then you notice something off about the work. By that time, the damage is done or you're stuck with substandard work. Some purposefully cut corners to save time. Others are just incompetent.

Funny story: At our last residence, we let some contractors have access to our house when we were out. When I returned home, I noticed that all the fish in our 55 gallon aquarium were missing! WTF?! I hollered for my wife. We both stood there wondering what just happened. Just then we noticed a tail fin sticking from a little decorative "cave" at the bottom of the aquarium. All the fish were hiding in the cave from the contractors!

As much as those carts cost I would think that they would be kissing your ass to get it right. I guess that they figure that if you don't buy it someone else will.

$15K out the door with FL tag, sound system, extended 40 mile battery, power steering, lights, six seater and cover included. Everybody has similar prices. It was really nice until they fucked up twice. Once I can deal with, twice in a week...no. I told the delivery guy, let my son deal with the manager because I'm just going to call him an asshole to his face and then we will have a problem. When I get all worked up I still get chest pains. I guess that cow valve is meant to be for grazing not fighting.

Hondas are excellent vehicles but we need a six seater minimum, you see if you own a house in the island they give you a parking decal that allows you to private beach areas that tourists can't go to, well, they could but it will cost them $150 fine, however your vehicle and the title to the property must be under the same name. My other son is not on the title neither is my daughter but I want them to have access to those areas as well when they go there, so I just buy a six passenger vehicle slap the parking decal on it and everybody can use it.

It’s easy to tell when you will be working with a thief using this guide (each yes answer earns a point) ….

Do they sell things for a living? 1 point
Do they earn a commission from sales? 1 point
Do they sell something you sit in or on? 1 point
Do they sell something with wheels? 1 point
Do they sell something mechanical? 1 point
Do they sell something that is typically financed? 1 point
Do they sell something that has multiple options and price points for essentially the same thing in different colors? 1 point

Add them up. If they score 1 point or more, they are likely a thief. The more points, the more likely they are a thief.

Hope that clears up any confusion out there.
