Il Papa e' Morto. (The pope is dead)

To paraphrase our friend Dinky, "every time a communist dies an angel gets his wings"

I think all the stuff they had him do yesterday finally killed him.

I think someone just gained some leverage

U.S. Vice President JD Vance began a four-day visit to India on Monday and will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as New Delhi rushes to avoid steep U.S. tariffs with an early trade deal and boost ties with the Trump administration.

I see President Trump ordered flags to be lowered to half-mast (or half-staff for all you land lubbers) for the Pope. I am disappointed in that order.

Castro threw a big party for him an hour after his death. Heard it was a hot time.

Say what you want about parties in Hell, but if you want politicians and celebrities to attend it’s the only place to be.

Francis was a disappointment. I'd like to see another John Paul II. It's possible.

As a non-practicing Catholic, I see the church from the outside. At least in my area, there are lots of old people: ages 65-90 who fill the pews. There aren't many young ones. There are some glimmers of hope and all is not lost. I think with better papal leadership, the Catholic church could see a resurgence. In the next few months, all eyes will be on the Vatican. Will they rise to the challenge?

They tried to raise me Catholic. When I see what the catholic church has done and after visiting the Vatican and seeing their booty and all the money they have and how they keep asking for more while actually doing very little for those in need I have arrived to the conclusion all they do is sell faith and have done very well doing so for hundreds of years. I had a local priest refused to baptize one of my boys because "The computer said I was not a donor at the church" 1983, computers were just starting to show up in offices and I had just moved into the neighborhood. Same priest later committed suicide when was found guilty of having sex with a child. Catholic church can kiss my ass. I have a friend who is not rich, is a Christian pastor, he doesn't sell faith and he does way more, he's put pedophiles in jail, he opens people's eyes about totalitarian Communist ideologies, he's a freedom fighter, he's been nationally recognized by his work. That's what a religious leader does. Be in front of the flock.

I know there are stories of Vlad Tepes (aka: Vlad the Impaler, aka: Dracula) driving nails into people's heads, but he wasn't a pope.

Yeah, that's bullshit. Why in the hell does some foreign commie get a half-staff flag for croaking?

Wait until you see who the frontrunners are for the next pope.
