    Today is --/---/.-./.../. Code Day

Celebrating the day Samuel Morse was credited with publishing the Morse Code.

Not really important but I just figure I'll put it out there.

Still used by Ham Radio operators and Pilots to identify radio navigation transmitters in some old places.
Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.

I learned Morse Code when I was in Boy Scouts. Have completely forgotten it now, along with tying all those cool knots.

I had to learn it to get a ham license and had to copy five words a minute. Over the years it has fallen by the wayside for me.

When I was in Army basic training Morse Code was part of an aptitude test. I passed that part with no problem and that's how I ended up in Army communications AIT at Ft. Gordon.

Morse code, being a ham radio operator speaking Spanish and knowing quite a bit about electronics got me out of one problem and into another."We need you and a few good men to do a job....out in the middle of Central American jungle so planes can land, and be careful out there".

Sometimes we can be too smart for our own good. Jungle fighting sucks but I'll take that over urban fighting any day.
