Why should someone who doesn't speak English and translates through their cellphone even have a CDL in the first place, I've met too many that should not be driving. What kind of payoffs are going on the trucking industry.

Few years back over here at a DMV in Deland Fl. I watched a Chinese woman take the whole written portion of the drivers test in Chinese. Not kidding. Elderly woman her daughter was interpreting for her.
DVM agent would ask? and the daughter would translate mom's answer. No license, no insurance, no registration NO ENGLISH? Don't look up how many 'percentage' you will never drive again.. 😂

ADD: My new and all driving license renewals are in English and a seperate page for a hundred foreign language renewal app. requests. In my travels to ALL foreign countries I had to have an 'international driving license'. Don't have one? Ticket vehicle towed and you pay or you do NOT board your flight home until you pay the fine and penalties.
It happened to us trying to leave Bangkok airport. We slipped the guy stopped us $50 and we got on our flight.

We have them in every language down here, Spanish, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, you name it. No Peek Englich no problemo, however, you must now show proof of citizenship, doesn't make any sense does it?

We're an English-speaking nation. Private businesses can do whatever they want, but official government actions must always be in English.

When my wife took her citizenship exam, it was all in English. There was no German interpreter standing by. It was sink or swim. Being German, she'd studied ad nauseum and knew every answer.

Problem is we never had an "Official Language" in the books. Now we do.

Parts of us were taken by the Spanish, French, British not to mention the original red face inhabitants.
