Hegseth says he's signing memo on combat arms standards for men and women

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signed a memo ordering the military to adopt the same standards for both men and women serving in combat roles on Sunday.
"For far too long, we allowed standards to slip, and different standards for men and women in combat arms MOS's and jobs. That's not acceptable," Hegseth said.

"We need to have the same standards – male or female – in our combat roles to ensure our men and women who are under our leaders and in those formations have the best possible leaders and the highest possible standards that are not based at all on your sex," he continued.
The U.S. military will use the same standards for testing both men and women for combat roles following a Sunday order from Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth.
We have met the enemy and he is us.

Good for him good job Mr. Hegseth. One could argue for endless time about women in combat or difficut mostly male oriented jobs and their abilities to match men. Yes their are women who are damn near equal to men in their abilities. But? To just lower the standards for all women to pass entry? NOPE AIN'T gonna work..
Even Israel has women and men not meeting standards in rear based or reserve positions. YES we hear of heroine women in the Israelite military but they are NOT with few exceptions front line troops.
Thank God the Dumbocrats are out and we can get our military and country back on track to be the best nation on earth. Lot of countries hate us. Then why the frig are they all fighting to come here?

There is something about Hegseth that strikes me as a fake bullshitter type of person. Too arrogant or something, I can't put my finger on it. I don't like him.

Fred maybe so as your fully entitled to your opinion buddy. But food for thought he is kicking ass and getting our military back on track from the sheer destruction the frigging idiot Dumbocrats did to it.
Gen. Eisenhower was a nervous wreck every time he had to dial Gen. Patton's phone. Patton's problem was he told the truth and that was not what the powers that be necessarily wanted to hear at the time. But he damn sure got the job done and Eisenhower knew it. Gen Montgomery and Gen Patton disliked each other immensely but both were the best we had at kicking ass and taking names.
So yah see yah don't have to like that 'used care salesman' to see what a great job he is doing for our military.

I wasn't aware that standards are bad .
                  I didn't get the memo .

White Liberals fight this kind of stuff .
White Liberals make up less than 1%
                  of the military .

This isn't any concern of White Liberals .

Well, yes, he was given a task to accomplish, let's hope he doesn't get drunk and screws it all up. The guy has been all over the place in his life, not lasting at any one particular assignment, but it seems he got them all done.

Yeah Fred I think he is coming on strong and I see where he could turn people off. But It appears his intentions are good for turning our military around from the God forsaken disaster Slow Joe 'Obama' turned it into. Hell it wasn't a short time ago with the Dumbocrats in charge they couldn't get anyone to sign up.
Us liking or disliking him really makes no difference its do the new kids potentially signing up like him is what matters.. 👍

well, recruiting was already up 12.5% in the second half of 2024, don't forget everything went to a standstill for a year and a half with the Covid mandates. I'm yet to see 2025 numbers. I don't care what any news media says, give me factual numbers.

While barky and the biden were president I did NOT recommend to nephews and niece's that they join our military. And explained why. I have had two nephews join the US Army last month. Both want to go airborne. Both wanted special forces tryouts. Both are smart jocks who run a hundred miles a week. Their pop will be proud to pin silver wings on their chests.

That was because standards were lowered. A large percent of those recruited won't pass basic training.
