Ashli Babbitt's family to receive $5 million in settlement with Trump admin

The Trump administration is set to pay out nearly $5 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the family of Ashli Babbitt, a rioter fatally shot during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to ABC News on Monday.

The settlement will resolve a $30 million suit brought by Babbitt's estate and the conservative group Judicial Watch alleging the Capitol Police officer who shot her as she attempted to breach a broken window of the House speaker's lobby was negligent in his duties.

That's good that Ashley's family is finally getting some justice. Now her murderer needs to go to prison for 20 years or so.

I have studied law enforcement shoots since 1990.
    Countless amounts of shoots .
    I still do it.
The Good , The Bad , And The Ugly .

Ashli Babbit was as bad of a shoot as you can get .
The only thing that saved the Lt Byrd was
he was Black and Babbit was White .
Couple that with phone calls from Nancy Pelosi
and Chuck Schumer , and Lt Byrd got away with
a shoot that no one would get away with

She was trying to squeeze into a broken window .
Lt Byrd was back almost 20 ft and behind cover .

A person is allowed to use Deadly Physical Force
if DPF is being used , or about to be used against
    himself or another .

At no time , as unarmed Ashli Babbit attempted
to squeeze through a broken window that she
had extreme difficulty getting through, was Lt Byrd
EVER in danger of DPF ( Deadly physical force )

If the cop was big , angry looking me , and shooting
a Black BLM girl or a 350 lbs , green hair , land whale
White bitch , you could bet I would be writing this from
    some Super Max

Add to that the video I saw of it showed several law enforcement or security personnel coming up behind her as she was trying to squeeze through that broken window. Seems they would have been in the line of Byrd's fire and if nothing else, moments away from preventing her from going any further. Byrd panicked and shot, or thought he would be the hero of the beach by taking a shot. Either way, bad shoot as you said.

I watched the livestream of her being shot. The guy happened to be standing just off to the left of her as it happened. Haven't seen THAT footage released anywhere. I wish I'd recorded it back then, but I'm not savvy enough to capture stuff like that as it is happening.

On the other hand, $5 mil will allow the purchase of a first class John Wick type to ensure justice is served - street justice.
