Just bought another golf cart

These people seem to have their act right, Evolution D5, 6 passenger all facing the front, Just got it insured, so they can apply for a license plate and state registration and I'll be able to drive it on the streets in the island. One charge is good for about 40 miles. Better price than the other one, better warranty too but I had to drive all the way to Punta Gorda to buy it. Just like this one but 2025.

I've been searching, sort of, but the more I look the less I can decide with so many choices

The only reason I'm buying one is so my kids can have private beach access in the island, if you own property there they give you a parking decal to go where only owners go, not tourists, but the car needs to be under the same name as the property owner, two of my kids are not on the deed (for asset protection, they are married) so I want them to use the golf cart to get around that. Those parking spaces are only about maybe less than a mile from the house, you could ride a bike too. I need to buy a few bikes, there is a nice one in the garage downstairs but got pretty messed up during the flood a couple years ago, I may try to restore it.

It takes more maintenance, these are now Lithium batteries that require no maintenance with an eight year warranty, after that just give it away and get another one, it may be my kids' problem by then, not mine. I bet you have lead acid batteries? they are a pain.

Yeah, they are the reddish brown colored Trojan 6 volt batteries. The cart is 36 volt and the last set of batteries cost $800.

That's old technology, go with lithium, no carburetor cleaning, no oil changes no gas smell....batteries are guaranteed for eight years, and they are a couple thousand now, in eight years they may be less as production increases. Just don't get sea water in them the guy told me, they are in a very well sealed box for that reason. If a hurricane approaches I will drive from under the house and chain it to a coconut tree. Sanibel floods and fire under a wood frame house is not a very good idea ever.

Max speed in the island is 25 mph so it's OK, that's also the max speed on the golf cart, just about, but it needs insurance and a tag from the DMV, Insurance is about $360 a year so it's not bad.

No, you can use gas too, but there is only one gas station in the island, the other one got destroyed by the hurricane and they turned it into a liquor store.

In Utah, people can drive anything on public roads, as long as it has DOT tires, turn signals, headlights and brake lights. Home made trucks, etc. are fine.

500g, to be street legal they have to meet certain conditions like the ones you mentioned plus a minimum speed of 25 mph, you also need rearview side mirrors. We already bought one but the dealer screwed up so big we got our money back so we tried another brand, waiting for it to be delivered... maybe next week? But we've done a lot of research and learned a lot about golf carts, believe me.

Wraith, now all I need is a bigger boombox, flashing lights and a little dog with the head going up and down on top of the dash.....LOL. Don't laugh, you can get them with lights on the bottom, big stereo soundbar and all kind of mexican/niqqer shit.
