The media and Ukraine fan boy talking points is now that the US has done nothing for Ukraine. Well I decided to crunch some numbers and dig into the data from sites other than the MSM. It turns out the US has given more aid to Ukraine than any other country. The EU's pledges allegedly will exceed US aid but to date it is nothing but promises. The feckless organs in the media claim the US did not send what Trump claimed was 300 b dollars in aid. What they misrepresent is Ukraine has received 300b from NATO allies and some Asian donors. So instead of listening to what Trump said in context they only looked at aid approved by congress which is around $160b dollars (incredibly the true number is unknown). This does not take into account the aid given by the US that is not from Congressional appropriation. It also ignores the fact during Trump's first term he sent several million in aid including sending advisors from the TN and Cali national guard, Javelin missiles, logistic support, radar and satellite systems. They also do not take note of the fact the US has sent more aid to Ukraine in three years than the entire budget for the Marines during that same time. Looking at EUs defense budgets for all Nato members they still only budget around 1.5 % of their GDP to defense despite the hand flapping about having to go it alone. Its all bullshit from our alleged allies.
To date, Ukraine has received more aid from the West than Russia has spent on the war--300b from countries supporting Ukraine v 250b cost to Russia. Yet the Ukrainians, like an angry drunk bum, demand more and claim it is not enough. They seem to forget that when the war escalated during the invasion Germany was still buying fuel from Ukraine yet Trump is the enemy? I cannot find specific numbers because they are murky but I will bet more aid has been sent to Ukraine during Trump's two terms than Biden sent. Yet Trump is hated by the pro Ukrainian crowd. Norway, remember Erik's rants, defense budget appropriation is the second lowest only slightly more than Spain. So much for the EU bluster. I am starting to believe we have no allies we do not buy. Further, there is no question the weapons systems have degraded our stock piles and hindered our troops ability to train of which I have first hand knowledge.
I am still waiting on France's and Germany's promise to send troops to Ukraine.
