The Beach Boys were before my time. They were my mom's music. Hence, throughout childhood and early teens I just assumed they sucked. Once I hit high school and the Seattle grunge music took over, I wanted no part of it. I started exploring that "shitty music" that was before my time and realized the 60s and 70s had some pretty kickass music. I was probably the only kid in my school in the early 90s whose favorite band was Led Zeppelin (still is).
