Ah crap, another very good friend gone.

Seems like as you get older people around you just drop like rotten tomatoes.

Very good friend, he got married for the third time and moved to the next county up, changed the phone and I lost track of him. I've been tracking them down for some time, yesterday I got a lead in Colombia, his wife is a Colombian US Citizen, shit I married them and her daughter too. finally spoke to her, after the move he got some sort of neurological disorder which wound up killing him five years ago, he was 71 back then. She moved down after her retirement, life is cheaper there she said. He was a good gun guy too but a damn democrat.

He never smoked, never was around

    anything …

It sure seems like my small group of

    friends is getting smaller too

Sorry to hear about your friend.

I re-connected with an old Army buddy last Fall. He was in dire straits. I helped him get his retirement. Got it all set up. Now he's "gone dark". Haven't heard from him in months. This isn't the first one.

That's why nowadays, when I'm planning a canoe trip, backpacking trip, cabin night, fishing trip.... I pretty much plan to go solo.

Vets reunion every year down in Melbourne Fla.. Up until 10yrs. or so ago their was around a hundred thousand people attending. Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coasties, Navy SEALs, etc.... Families kids a few WWII vets. Then? Everyone kind of hung in their own group and the groups got smaller and smaller. Hey where is so and so? Sorry he is gone.
Last reunion a few months ago sadly maybe eight thousand attended? But the good news is the younger vets from the Gulf wars and police officers are going to fill in and start making it grow again. All is good life goes on.

Have you ever attended a 50 year high school reunion? Quite a few guys gone. I was talking about it with my doctor the other day, he's my age, "man, people are dropping like flies". JUst consider I almost didn't make it to the New Year.

Death does not scare me, it's not finishing the stuff I have to do what bothers me.

No school reunions hell their is nobody I really wanted to see. Finishing stuff? I do the same Fred I can't stand stuff waiting to get done. I have to do lists all over the damn place. Getting old slowing down and its a struggle to get every damn thing done..
Restoring an old jeep putting a ton of money in the frigging thing but its coming out nice. I have been talking with dinky and he gave me some good tips. I have an air-soft M-60 with blank ammo belts wrapped around it on the back on a stand. All the kids want to shoot it I tell them its a fake and they don't care they still want to shoot... 😀

ADD: These air softs look so real everyone thinks the damn thing is real. My Nam bro was just here he carried a 60. He picked it up and it even fooled him for a minute or two..

There is a guy in the island who had a Jeep with an M60 on the side, I hope it survived the flood, I'll find out this July 4th, he always rides it in the parade.

I am pretty sure dinky has a real tax stamped legal M-60?? Maybe he will see this and kick in? Oh my God the legal transferable ones are going for a small fortune at auction. Not real crazy but their pushing $70 or $80 thousand. I never fired one but their a good sound to hear when the SHTF.
Sorry kind of stepped on yer post Fred hope your friend R.I.P..

                  Great pix . 😎

I would like a reunion at 4TH's with the the
                  folks who were there .

                  Me , 4TH , RTO , and FROGMAN.
Whoever else would like to show up .

Jamie , who is horrible about bugs and critters ,
was fishing off the dock with FROGMAN and RTO .
Jamie isn't good with even a caterpillar, got on 4TH's
boat into the St John's John's over flowing with
                  gators , poisonous snakes , turtles , sea monsters , etc 🤣

Jamie had 3 life preservers on , and saying
I needed to pull my arm back in from the
side of boat because I would be dragged in
by the Loch Ness Monster or something from
                  Jurassic World

Jamie was trying to put on a brave face .
She isn't good with a moth and 4TH's place
is full of prehistoric giant dinosaurs that survived
                  the Ice Age . 🤣

It was a great time 🤠

( Below is Jamie with life preservers , and her
bravest face , as 4TH drives the boat into
                  Jurassic World )

Oh gee, she's from the islands, she should be used to all sort of critters. M-60, yeah I thought about mounting one on top of my golf cart to fight the gators ... but it costs more than the cart itself so I gave up on that idea.

DOn't worry about the thread hijack, shit we do it all the time, He's dead, ain't nothing we can do about it now. He had a dealer license too but on his first divorce sold all his guns to pay the lawyer.

The m60 will not fit the same mounts that a Browning MG does. So you have to find a mount that will mate your m60 to your pedestal in your jeep. Pedestals are somewhat military jeep model specific. Sarco might be the place to look for a pedestal and mount. $$$

I have a heavy tripod and got a Pintel? that fits to the M-60. Were not going 100% repo dink just getting it close. The guy I gave you his phone number and his crew got all the authentic detailed stuff. They have the .50 cal reproductions that are dead on in detail. They were $2,000 and hell I am happy with the M-60.
He has 3 restored military jeeps plus 2 Humvees and a helicopter 'non airworthy.' He is also working on my jeep and the guy is good.
