I was glad when Black Sabbath emerged with a different type of music from the British rock that was quite popular at the time. I enjoyed Ozzy's antics along with the music.

I still listen to Black Sabbath. When the booted Ozzy I never bought into them.. I actually caught that last concert with Ozzy seated. I thought the sounded great. Seeing Bill Ward on drums made it really Black Sabbath for me.

Some of those people you don't associate with are members here. Might not be your style of music, but I feel that's generational. I don't know Ozzy's politics, but as GenX, Ozzy's music was awesome. Sure you can point fingers at his lifestyle and substance abuse. But you can do that for every generation of music. Jimi Hendrix = drugs. Led Zeppelin = drugs. Ray Charles = drugs. Johnny Cash = drugs. Fact is, Ozzy made some spectacular hits....if that's your taste in music. But he didn't do it alone, RIP Randy Rhoads. Some of Ozzy's best tracks: Crazytrain, Bark at the Moon, I Just Want You, No More Tears, etc.

The 70s and 80s were great decades for music. Ozzy was a huge part of that. I did see Sabbath but with Dio. Blue Oyster Cult opened. Then 2 songs into Sabbath's set some idiot threw a beer bottle on stage and hit Geezer. They walked off after Dio chastised the audience. The venue went up for grabs and turned into a full scale riot. All I could think was 2 things. Get the fuck outta here and The Mob Rules. You can hear audio of the fracas on You Tube if you search Black Sabbath Milwaukee Riot. I saw numerous Ozzy shows also in Milwaukee as a kid. Randy, Jake and later Zakk. His first 2 solo records were definitely a major part of my youth soundtrack. RIP John and thanks for the music and memories. I hope you're tipping a glass with Lemmy and Randy at God's tavern.

The first time that I saw Mr T was on a televised bar bouncer competition to which he won. He definitely stood out against his competition with the mohawk and chains.

Chuck Mangione of 1980 Lake Placid Olympics and King of the Hill fame died on the 22nd and Bing has just gotten around to announcing it today.
