Home Depot really pisses me off.

I have a NIB American Standard "Champion" turd gobbler sitting in my garage, that will be installed in my first floor shithouse. Big turds.....GONE. unsinkable floaters, GONE. If a person has 'roids.... beware! A Champion toilet, might, just try to pull your asshole inside out.

They made a change on the flapper system. I had to get the part and replace it, not a big deal, I guess the new ones already have the new system. It takes two people to put it in, it's a big one and lining up the screws at he bottom is not an easy job. I did it 20+ years ago, I don't think I can do it now, let my son send me a couple guys.

My AS Champion gets blocked up with calcium and won't even flush after a while. I have to then treat it with muriatic acid to dissolve the lime. My water is so hard, it fails the EPA standard for suspended solids. I don't know how the water company gets away with it.

A few weeks ago, one of my window unit A/C's burned out the compressor in a big cloud of smoke. It was 14 years old & had served a good life, so I went straight to Home Depot & bought a replacement unit that included heat. loaded it in the truck & took it home.

The unit that burned up was in the second story, so a 150# a/c had to be dragged up the stairs by me & installed. After removing the old one & completing the install, power was applied & nothing but the compressor ran. After pulling the unit back out of the wall, you could see when the unit was dropped causing the compressor which normally sits upright to lean over @ a 45 degree angle. The blower fan was crushed into the fan shroud & could not turn.

Back to Home Depot the following day to return the damage unit which showed no damage to the cardboard container & get another one. The entire install was repeated & when I turned the newer unit on, it sounded like a glass bottle was being destroyed in the blower compartment. This unit was also dropped & bent the compressor into the blower compartment seriously denting it. Back to Home Depot to return it.

The 3rd unit was brought back home, installed in the upstairs location & works like a charm. None of the cartons showed damage on the outside, but the first two units were destroyed. The Home Depot used to be my go to for everything, but now days its a tossup.

Those guys they have orders to put everything in stock no matter what. Whenever possible I open the box to check everything that's supposed to be there is there, even if it's taped up, I take my knife out and cut the tape. When I installed some recessed lights in my house 3 out of 6 packaged can units had something missing. They had one of those tall stairs they use to get to the top shelves so I took it and got me a sealed box from the top shelf, no one saw me and I got new, complete , sealed boxes.

The HD and Lowes are about 7 miles from me and they are both good stores to shop for the most part. If they don't have what I need but have it at other stores that are 10-15 miles away in the other direction I won't go to them because every time that I have gone to them the experiences have turned into a nightmare. So I order on line and have to wait.

If I go to either store closet to me and think that I might need some assistance I take my wife to use as a decoy. If I go by myself getting help is either non existent or I have to add more time to my trip there waiting on help. What I mean is I can be looking at something and won't see an employee for a while but a decent looking woman can come to the same aisle and BINGO there he is! So I take my wife to look at what we need and I stay down the aisle away from her waiting to ambush the guy. She didn't believe me at first until it happened.

I've gotten used to "no service" home improvement stores and actually PREFER them! Menards is my favorite. I drive into the lumber yard with my truck and trailer, take as much time as I want, select the best lumber, load all my materials, and don't have to deal with any "helpers". Whenever some employee tries to "help", they always seem to make it worse.

- They pick the crappiest lumber.
- They load the lumber in a haphazard fashion on the trailer making it difficult to strap in.
- They want to rush the process and get things done in a speedy fashion with no consideration of quality.

I much prefer to do things myself. At Menards, it's perfect. The employees see me grab a pair of work gloves and they literally run away from me like a vampire from garlic!
