    Astronaut Jim Lovell,died Thursday in Illinois. He was 97.

    Lovell was also the first astronaut to go to space four times and part of the Apollo 8 crew, the first to launch on the Saturn V rocket and first to orbit the moon.

          Most pilots I've known live a long life...I hope I'm one of them. 97 is a long life.
          Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.

            All the original NASA pilots are gone. They were truly the best and brightest that America produced during that era.

            I attended the University of Cincinnati back in the 70's. Used to see Neil Armstrong walking around campus from time to time as he taught Aeronautics at the engineering school then. Average height, always wore a suit and tie and carried a briefcase. I always wanted to speak to him and tell him how much I admired his accomplishments, but I was afraid he would say, "Get a haircut & shave hippy!" Still a neat memory though.
