Smoke has finally cleared out in my area

I'm sitting outside listening to the tree frogs. I love being outside.
We have met the enemy and he is us.

Same here in NW Michigan. I like being outdoors and Canadian smoke made things less enjoyable. In addition to coughing fits, the smoky days would leave you with a peppery taste in your mouth. I'm thankful for the break.

Unfortunately I'm not able to hear the chorus of night time insects like I used to.

Europe is burning bad too in Spain, Italy,
Portugal. Too dry and too hot.
Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.

It's not uncommon for wildfires in the bush in Canada

I actually like the smell of burning campfires. It's a sort of Summer incense. Canadian wildfires are different. It's a nasty, peppery, smell that lingers in your mucus membranes. It's awful.

Once they become our 51st state, we'll fix the issue. Until then, we just gotta deal with it.

Holy sheeet Johnny you better not go to O Canada hit a bar and say that. PTs tariffs have them pissed off enough at us. 😁
Younger days I was fixing up a cabin in VT. Getting the lumber from a nice man just a short ride from me. Good lumber and prices were great. But? Any lumber going back up from us their were raping $$. All the damn countries were screwing American products and PT just squared up the deals rape us we do the same.

Within reason I read they actually regenerate and help the forests? Seems like those fires have been going on for a long long time?
