I had a customer in this morning that said an Amish guy was arrested for impregnating his 13 year old daughter. I saw that he was arrested in the news paper prior to hearing this, but it didn't give any details. What a sick bastard.

Instead of being outraged, making strongly-worded statements on the internet, why not go on the offense? There's a lot the average Joe can do to make life difficult for convicted sex offenders.

Michigan has an excellent sex offender registry. Other states have similar ones. I keep a close eye on all sex offenders near my properties. If one of them is doing something questionable, I can submit a tip directly through the web site to the county-level administrator who tracks these creeps.

I ratted out one guy just the other day who is running a commercial-level marijuana grow facility on his property. As always, I choose NOT to remain anonymous. The administrator is free to contact me for additional help. The criminal was convicted in 2018 of 2nd degree criminal sexual assault on a person under the age of 13 in Wayne County, MI (Detroit area). Apparently, he served his time, moved out to the sticks near my place and is back to what he knows best: crime.

If anyone calls me a "snitch", I'll wear that title as a badge of honor.

Absolutely! This had been going on a LONG time; far longer than we want to imagine. Another "given" is that other adults knew or suspected what was going on and did nothing.

War story alert: Toward the end of my Army career, I was dealing with an Army major who had been harassing a young female E3 her entire tour in Afghanistan. It was ugly. One of the captains stationed there knew everything but kept his mouth shut the whole time. He was afraid of making waves. When he arrived stateside he told me everything. I was so pissed! He had done nothing to help the whole tour! I told him "Your weakness caused this to happen. 40-50 years from now when you're laying on your death bed, I hope this failure haunts you." He immediately transferred from the unit and I never saw him again. Good riddance!
