Went to a medieval festival today, had full contact jousting, sword fighting displays, etc.

Now I do understand that these events you always see a few people dressed up as hobbits, knights, wizards, etc. Just par for the course and some of the outfits were impressive. Not my thing but to each their own.

Walking around seen a few like this, and pretty much ignored them.

Then we seen the freak. A “ man “ that was probably about 400lbs, very short shorts, a mask or helmet ( enclosed his entire head so not exactly sure) and no shirt with heart shaped nipple pasties. It was very revolting.

My oldest seen him a couple seconds before I did( always trying to maintain situational awareness). His words were if he comes near my brother I’ll kick his ass.

We only seen this guy briefly, and the one time. Expressed our concerns that he may be a sex offender trying to conceal his identity to the sheriff’s deputies working special duty. It was almost 90 degrees before heat index so not many would wear something that uncomfortable especially at this guys weight.

It’s a dam shame people like this can walk around freely in public. He could have been a normal guy just enjoying himself legitimately, or a furry pervert. We wasn’t talking any chances and left shortly after seeing him. Call me paranoid I guess.

Fortunately we had seen just about everything we wanted before he was spotted.

Never been to one of those Renaissance Fairs or whatever they're called. They might have been okay years ago but times being what they are, are probably filled with purple haired troons, pedos, homos and every other flavor of mental defective. If I want to experience that I can just take the train into Chicago.

I went to a couple, back when my kids were little. I did kind of like the chicks in chainmail bikinis, but could never quite figure out how they fit into the Renaissance. Last one I went to had a pretty strict role-player standard in that they only allowed period-correct dress and no fantasy characters. The monks sold some dang good mead, best I ever had.

When I was homeless in Southern California, I lived at the Cucamunga Renaissance Festival for a week in my tent. Every evening after work, I'd pay the gate guard my rent - a thermos full of hot coffee, and pick up the empty thermos from him in the morning on my way out to work. I was usually too exhausted to pay attention to them, but those guys who were also camping there were nuts. One tried to open my tent to mess with me and found a .44 mag barrel stuck in his nose. He zipped it back up and left me alone.
