Yep, I had both eyes' cataract surgeries done this month. What a relief from wearing glasses for 30 years. So far I don't even need readers anymore and I can see better at night. The eye doc said that my vision should get even better.

Yay, Florida Man!
Best thing that happened to my vision this year is when I went to a new eye doctor and he prescribed me a new type of contact lens that gives me regular vision. I don't need to use my Dexters anymore to read things close up. I'm not sure how they work. All I know is they are phenomenal, plus they allow me to be a better shooter.Comment

I was going to go with the basic ( no cost to me ) lens but my wife encouraged me to get the upgrade which cost a little over 5K. I had an astigmatism in both eyes but was worse in the right eye. I had a Toric lens put in the right eye and an upgrade in the left eye with laser treatment in both. So far I don't need readers which my doctor said that I might need.
One thing that I'll have to get used to is bright light because with the clear vision it seems like my eyes are dilated when I step out into the Flarda sun.Comment

Oh yes, you will be sensitive to bright light for a while. The factory lens has yellowish tint, the replacement is clear. That's what they told me long time ago, first upgrade was $5K, Best was $10k...but my wife wasn't there and didn't have a say in the matter, she would have gone for a 40k update if they had one.lol. I just passed the driver's lic eye test so I'm still good.
