I got one when I was 8 yrs old. Kind of felt ripped off, since I'd been shooting a .22 for 4 years, already. That BB gun just didn't cut the mustard for me except for the fact I could wander around with it and nobody got excited.

Shortly after I moved to New Mexico, I ran into the actor who played Red Ryder a couple different times. He was already in his 80's. Once, at a gun show and another time at the horse rescue I used to volunteer at. Real nice guy, but I don't think he was all there. His grandson never left his side - as he was his handler or something.

Had one and still have it



Actually was on grandpa's farm and I latched on to it
Original stock broke so I made a new one for it when I was around 10 or 12
Used a board my dad had around was a little narrow but turned out ok
Added a little length to it too

I have one also. I got it when I was about ten years old on a vacation in Alabama with family. It still works just fine.
