boon I like that. When you turn the heat from high to low does it react quickly or do you have to wait awhile for it to drop temp.??
I know induction is the new fangled thing but gas is still the king for cooking.

It's as responsive as a gas burner. And it heats up really fast. It really is impressive. The only down point was it's not cheap & replacing my cookware wasn't either but it will out last me.

I also bought a new Bosch dishwasher that's really impressive. It's only like 42 or 44 dc. The racks inside of it are supper adjustable & it has a lot of settings. I really don't care about the wifi.

Interesting thank you. Yup but for all us poor folk out here gas and cast iron cookware are still the way to go. Someday I will give that induction a shot. 👍

I wonder if commercial kitchens will go with Induction cooking??

Induction cooking is a method of cooking that uses a copper coil underneath the cooking surface to generate electromagnetic energy. This energy transfers directly to your cookware to make it hot enough to cook food.

          How does induction cooking work?

          Induction vs. electric cooktops

While electric and induction cooktops may look the same, they transfer heat differently. Electric cooktops radiate heat from coils beneath the cooking surface through to the bottom of the cookware sitting on top. Induction cooktops transfer energy to create heat directly within a pot or pan.

My house is all electric. I really couldn't see adding propane for the added cost. It was one of the only negatives to this house, but that induction range really does rock.

I wonder how that cooktop would hold up under cast iron?

Cast Iron is an approved medium to use. I have used my cast iron comal to heat tortillas and it heated up fast & cooked well.

My girlfriend likes her induction stove. She's a good cook to boot.😊

They really are a cooks friend if stuck with the electric only option.

I've heard good things about them Boon. My glass top stove is about 19 years old and still works well, but if I was to replace it I'd go induction type.

I purchased all new appliances when I purchased this house. A glass top stove was one of them. It has an, I believe some kind of special oven...but I can't remember what. Gal pals who use it really like it. I have only used it to bake Pillsbury biscuits in. It works fine.

If you go induction type you need to replace all your pots and pans. I have electric but in all honesty, for cooking the best thing is gas.

I definitely prefer gas but we have electric. My wife never cooked on a gas stove so she has no idea how much better it is.
