"Mom's house shoe" Yup Snake I am with yah buddy we both know what that is. Pain bad pain. 😁
60 yrs. ago kids feared retribution from their parents. God forbid the police knocked at your door your really getting it. Now? I call it the 'Not my baby syndrome'. Oh my little darling would never do that. My sisters lard ass lazy pot smoking daughter is the poster child for the 'not my little girl.' The whole frigging neighborhood could tell my sister she did this or that and it would be an impossible she would neve do that.
In front of liberal judges? Please your honor my little darling found Jesus while she was waiting to see you. NO CONSEQUENSES right up to them getting old enough to carry and shoot and a they won't do nothing to me if I shoot that kid I don't like. Is it the kids fault or the parents? Either way to many of them are turning into animals.

My Mom's disciplinary tool was a hairbrush and she knew how to use it besides brushing hair. My father used a belt. Both methods worked to calm me down for a while.

My father's tool was also the belt. But I can easily count on one hand how many times he actually used it. After being on the receiving end a couple times, just him removing his belt was enough for me to straighten up. Mom's house shoe on the other hand? She wore those terrycloth slip-ons with the flimsy rubber sole, which had a hell of a whip action.

I spent kindergarten through 3rd grade in a southern school. Every teacher had a paddle, as well as the principal. Then we moved to Minnesota to start 4th grade. My classmates said "Your teachers had paddles???"

I went to school in Jacksonville FL and in Jr and Sr high school the girls and the boys deans both had paddles and would use them. The coaches had paddles and loved to use them for any infraction to their rules.
