My 2014 F350 is fine, runs great, low miles, new rubber, brakes, shocks...but a new one is looking good. I like polished Alcoa wheels and big gas V8 engines. Dealers are ready to suck dick to move the new ones so now might be a good time. I kinda like the lightweight aluminum body parts. My truck has manual locking hubs and a manual transfer case. I like that setup... but... fucking with that while on one leg in the snow or mud... could be a pain in my ass. Undecided about the crew cab. Not like I am planning carting around a crew to do gun shows anymore. What to do? I'm real close to being debt free...and...well wtf?

New vehicle quality is so bad I think you might be better served to keep what you have and upgrade it. But as Aviator said, if a new truck will bring you happiness then go for it.
I will tell you around my AO dealerships sell their vehicles for sticker plus and seem to have no regard for whether they move or not.Comment

I'm not at all sure Ford's quality has taken a hit. I have a 1 year old F150 and it is every bit as good as my previous 5 F150's. I expect the same reliable service from it.
Go for it and purchase what you want. I like the 7.3L gas engine A LOT. Get the truck that makes your life easy.Comment

In August, I replaced my 2014 Honda Accord with a 2019 Dodge Ram. It has a 5.7 Hemi and I love it! Gas mileage is about 30% less than the Accord, but it really doesn't matter at this point in my life. I only drive about 5,000 miles a year. I'm 61 years old and this is the very first automatic transmission vehicle I've ever owned. I've always been a manual transmission "purist" but I'm digging the automatic and the deep growl of the V8. Just goes to show that we're all just little boys that will never grow up!
However.... If I were in your situation, I would only buy a new truck if it doesn't bring you in more debt. Being debt-free is non-negotiable with me. I will never go into debt, especially for something that goes down in value like a vehicle. If you can pay cash for the new vehicle, then you have my strong thumbs up.

Everything... is to damn expensive these days. I see little point in dying with a pile of cash in the bank that COULD HAVE been spent (fig) snorting lines of coke off the asses of twenty year old 'hos. I made the payoff on my ZO6 Corvette yesterday...$51.00. Fuck! Now my credit rating will begin to nosedive...after paying it off... three years early. I was considering the purchase of a surplus HUMMV...at least a 2009 with a heat and AC. I wanted a slant back with a top gun hatch. But....they are a bastard for me to get in and out of. Guess I will just stick with my 1964, FMC, M151-A1, for OD thrills and chills. Since I worked out how to keep the back wheels from rolling under, in to sharp of a turn...and installed seatbelts to keep me from sliding my ass out onto the road... I can at least cruise it on an interstate at an acceptable speed to keep from being run over.....and it is all set up for radios... and... has a mg pedestal. I like cruising my OD toys out here in gods country where there aren't any retarded and drunk DAN's to run stop signs and kill me.
If....I lived in the American South, where it did not get real cold...AND....it was twenty miles to buy a loaf of bread....THEN....I might consider a turbo diesel engine in an F350,4x4.
A 7.3 liter gas engine should pull my cargo trailer nicely. Hmmmmm...a 10 speed automatic trans....heated seats... Dealership up the road has plenty of inventory of 2025 and 2026 trucks, cars, etc., to sell... SO, it appears to be a buyers market to me. Yup older is better the older a truck is the more I like it. My 2007 Silverado it took the dealership head techs. a week and a half to figure out what was wrong with the damn trucks computers. You need a million dollars worth of computers to find out whats wrong with your trucks computer.Comment

I already have all the electronic diagnostic equipment in hand and many years of experience in using it. If you are not a professional gear head...stay out from under the hood and the dashboard. Every year the OBD systems have gotten better and better. I get along fine with the pro wrenches at the Ford and Chevy dealerships up the road. I'm a hot rodder. Many of them are also.
I keep looking at Ford Model A sedans (restored stockers) on line. Maternal Grandpa had a 1929 4-door sedan...only car he ever owned. He used to take me to his fishing spots in it... and...all kinds of other travels. I like the sound of those flathead 4cyl engine. I like the sound of Ford flathead V8 engines also.
