Milton is now a Cat 5 storm. Major damage across the state. Sanibel Ft Myers may have a 9 foot surge again. Total destruction while still trying to rebuild from the last one.
Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.

Found out my Aunt lives in Zephyrhills, not sure how much in the path she is.

She’s not able to evacuate. Hopefully she stays safe.

Yes sir Fred Cat-5. Winds steady at 155 m.p.h. and higher gusts. They did have it hitting Tampa A.O. as a Cat-3 but now a Cat-5. Then they have a line drawn straight over us crossing the state. We should get 100 to 125 m.p.h. winds here and the sheeet is going to fly. This swamp shack will probably end up on RTOs front lawn..

Klauss direct in this storms path. She is away from the beach so storm surge should not be a problem. Not sure of her living accommodations but she really really should go to a shelter is she lives alone.
          Just north of Tampa.

She said she’s edge of zone C in D. Unfortunately she can’t get out from what my mother is saying.

Hopefully she can ride it out.

Looks like they moved Port St. Lucie out of the cone, but at this stage that means Jack and squat. It can even still hook up and hit the Panhandle, for all we know.

I got a bad feeling for you, 4th - keep your powder dry (and everything else)!

Tie it down! 100 mph winds is not a big deal, a few branches and fences down, Your problem

A little while ago I saw a video of I-4 heading east, all lanes are packed with traffic and crawling. So far Milton is predicted to track south of I-4 to Tim's place. Come on up Buddy if you want to, Kay will make you some cornbread.

Hurricane Milton even stronger in latest update, with winds reaching 180 mph

I got a bad feeling about this one Sarge.
Tampa I-4 A.O. then N.E. right over us here RTO.. Once it lands winds expected to be 145 m.p.h. or better right across the state. Hwys. crawling with people heading out of here at around 40 m.p.h. my bud was seeing on I-95 driving back from Daytona.
Save me some of Kay's cornbread RTO..

I-75 is at a crawl heading north from here Fred. One fender bender and those people will be spending the storm on the highway. FEMA is setting up in town here and the Sheriff's dept. set up. Water is right at the top of my sea wall so a foot of rain or more should put it over. Never had it more than a few feet into my yard but we will see.

Not gonna be pretty when this thing hits. Best wishes and prayers for y'all (and your families) in its path. I have family in Lake Wales (home and business) right in its path. I know my uncle is stubborn and won't leave unless his wife puts a fire under his ass.

They will be fine GBob01. Long as they have a secure structure they are well away from the storm surge.

My former in-laws live in Terra Ceia, haven't heard from them in years, but I hope they make it thru all this once in a 100 year storm. They live right on the water with a canal going out into the Gulf.

I’m sure they were evacuated, they’re telling people if they stay they’ll be on their own.

Milton blew over another cedar tree on a couple of military trailers I have. Helene blew one over on my Deuce two weeks ago. Damage was minimal to the Deuce & none to the other trailers as the first one hit was a 100Kw generator trailer & they are solid steel. The humvee trailer, a M1102, only got brushed by the top of the tree, so no damage there.

Helene dropped more trees than Milton & we only got 2" of rain out of Milton. Home & everything else is fine, so I should count my blessing that this location wasn't hit like Tampa / St Pete area.
