I continue to believe curling is just a gigantic, world wide practical joke somebody is playing on me. I had never heard of it, and nobody I knew had heard of it. One day it was suddenly in the Winter Olympics and everybody on TV and all the Olympic types were all "Oh yea, curling is super normal. Almost everyone has a favorite team. Everybody knows and loves curling!" I was right about when the Y2K computer bug thing was going on. Probably not related in any way, but I'll use that as a launching pad for another government conspiracy anyway.

I call bullshit! Curling ain't real and the government is in on it!

Merc a way better one. Wayne Cashman 'Bruins' versus Dave 'The Hammer' Schultz playoffs in Philly.. My buddies restaurant in Boston across from the Garden the Bruins came in after loosing the series to Philly. I was working and Cashmans face looked like a frigging truck hit it. Cashman told Shultz he did not feel good did not want to fight but the crowd would not have it. Lots of blood..

The only guy I saw the better of Schultz
was Clarke Gilles in a Islanders vs Flyers
playoff game .

Ranger fans like me loved Gilles that night .
Schultz used to beat the shit out Rangers
on a regular basis .

Until somebody breaks out the hard-core science using robot throwing arms and laser trackers to measure the speed and course of the stone, I will never believe that the people with the brooms have any influence on that curling stone whatsoever. So as far as I'm concerned curling is nothing but shuffleboard on ice with extra people at least until science proves otherwise.
