    Recurring dreams....

I have posted before about having recurring dreams. The dream in question was me being in my last week of college. I was several chapters short of being caught up in an English/Lit class and it is finals week, and I am not prepared at all. I would wake up in a panic, then I realize it was a dream and I graduated college decades ago. I think it was dinkydow that said he had similar recurring dreams (I apologize if I'm wrong dinky).

Just a few nights ago, I had another recurring dream that I've had forever. I'm driving down the road and have to come to a stop for some reason (red light, car in front of me, etc.) and when I step on the brake, nothing happens. I jam the brake pedal to the floor with all of my might and the car just slows slightly when it should lock up. Just before impact, I wake up.

I don't know what this means, if it means anything. Does anybody else out there have weird recurring dreams like this that they don't know how to interpret?

Yes. I have recurring dreams. They're not unpleasant or scary. I'm back in the Army just doing run-of-the-mill "boring" stuff.

      - Packing for the field
      - Standing in line at the arms room
      - Fixing up my office space
      - Attending a class

I don't fight it or try to analyze it. I just roll with it and am thankful I'm not being chased in my sleep by an angry circus clown wearing stiletto heels and swinging a butcher knife! 😅

It means it's time to go pee. I don't know I used to have recurring dreams about a house on the beach, now that I own one I still get them, one is about the house having two swimming pools, one of them right by the beach and the filter system not working so the pool being full of grown seaweed and sand.....
Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.

Either I don't dream or I don't recall them. Is that odd?

I've had reoccurring dreams for as long as I can remember. The college thing is one of the strongest. Typically it's finals time and I haven't been to class all semester long. Or, I can't find the freaking classroom and get lost on campus. Another involves being notified I have to return to high school to finish a particular course. I guess it's all anxiety/fear of failure stuff. Crazy.

I've had a couple over the last few years
One is driving my old pick up truck trying to find gas stations while it's over heating.
Another has me working back at my old job where I have no business being since they let me go.
If I remember them I use the on line interpretation sites
Mostly for fun curiosity but sometimes they seem to ring close to true
Found these for your brake one

I used to have these exact dreams all the time.

I have a few other commonly recurring dreams like I am in a parking garage but either cant find my car or cant find my way out of the garage. I sometimes dream I am running on the road on all fours like an animal. Natural disaster and nuke war dreams are common recently.

                I rarely have pleasant dreams.

How about having to take off from a street full of electrical wires? Ever had that one?

Snake research R.E.M. sleep that is rapid eye movement and the deepest sleep you can go into. Where you wake up feeling like you got a good nights rest. Sleep expert Dr. talked to us vets about sleep as most vets have sleep problems. We typically will not remember dreams when we first lay down to sleep.
We will sometimes clearly remember dreams we have in our waking hours. Do NOT argue or watch Godzilla attacks Tokyo before laying down to sleep. Relax before laying down and do NOT start worrying about stupid sheet whatever it is or you will toss and turn. This Doc. was good gave us a lot of good tips.
Nightmares? Nam won't get into it here. My Nam bro Wade comes here every Wednesday and stays over. He wakes sometimes around 03:00 screaming. Scares the be-Jesus out of me my cats they frigging leap on me with claws out and that's it night is done for sleep.

You are dead on. I have not had THAT ONE for some time now... But I know just what you mean. Some months ago my stump was hurting/throbbing. I got out of bed gobbled some Rx dope and got back into bed. I then had this bizarre as fuck nightmare. There was the box spring part of a bed, all bare steel springs etc., that was GLOWING RED HOT, descending down on me. I was somehow restrained and could not get away. I woke up sweat covered and all wrapped up in the sheet. FUCK!
I got up out of my rack went downstairs and turned the TV on, sat and stared mindlessly at it until sleep took me again while I was sitting on the loveseat. I woke up around noon and was still buzzed from the dope and thinking "WTF" was that about?
I do hope to not ever revisit that bad dream again. Talk about "drug fueled nightmares!" Fucking red hot box springs???

                            Sleep?…

If I get more than 4 hours, I am up

and down all night, that is very unusual…

Some people's college nightmares are worse than others.
