    OK Ring Camera, you win

I mean, if you want me to unsubscribe that bad, fine. I'll unsubscribe.

For about 5 years I've had a Ring camera package on the house, just 3 cameras, but they do what I want. Ring occasionally sent an email, but probably not more often than 6 or so a year. Wasn't intrusive, wasn't a problem.

I come home today and there's some email from Ring. It's an add for some enhanced protection, so I deleted it. About 5 minutes later, there's a new email, another version of the "Buy this to enhance your Ring protections!" Weird, I would swear I deleted that, but what ever - Delete.

Five minutes later, ping, another email about Ring and their enhanced protections. OK, lesson learned. Unsubscribe first, then delete.

This morning I opened the Ring app to see which critters were captured on video cam of my front yard/driveway to the recurring message that 'your free Ring PRO trial expires in XX days'. I never opted for a free Ring PRO trial. I have a feeling that when the 30 day free trial ends that Ring will try to shift my old plan to the PRO plan. Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks. I'll be ready for them as I have only one Ring camera but I have 7 other Wyze cameras scattered around my place. It will be very easy to add one more camera to my Wyze account without any additional fee other than the cost of a replacement camera. I just don't want to have to retire a $300 Ring camera with floodlights if I don't have to..

Oh it's only what three or five dollars a month? I have Blink all around the house here but have my own hub with a usb drive so I save all my things. At he island we have some Reolink solar powered (and batteries) cameras that are fancy, they even follow people around and record them, they alert my cell when something moves, even a tree.
Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.

Could it be a new scam? Scammers never sleep.

I have a Blink camera, but I let the battery die because the hummingbirds kept setting it off all the time.

I keep an eye on my pool guy, make sure he cleans that filter He didn't know I had a camera back there and he wasn't doing his job right so I told him..."Look...you see that camera, it records what you do and you haven't cleaned that filter in a while'. Then a neighbor's black cat that has adopted my house as an AO.

The only thing they've really done for me is to show FedEx that their delivery driver never even got out of his truck when he was "Unable to get a signature". 3 times so far.

I have security cameras and they showed me when a ngger school bus driver almost backed into my house. I'm 50 feet from the road, and the bitch couldn't turn the bus around in my cul-de-sac.
I called her supervisor who I later found out jumped her shit. He came to my house to show her how to do it. Cameras help, but not the subscription type.

You've got bears and panthers roaming around your place at night not to mention the alligators and snakes. I agree that you don't need cameras.

Hell no brother their is sheet out their at night will kill yah and I am not making a damn joke. Young bobcat hanging around does not really bother anything. Not many rattlers here really at all in the neighborhood. But must be mating season cause my buds land a few miles from here their crawling all over the damn place.
My black cat Diablo starts growling like a damn dog if something moves out their. For real runs to the window and growls.

About 2 years ago someone stole from our off grid cabin property. Pretty ballsy move as they drove down our long road and there's only one way in or out. I immediately added heavy fencing, locking cattle gate, and signage. For cameras, I opted for fake decoy cameras from Menards. They look real and even have a flashing red light. Not as good as the real deal, but good enough for a guy who is about as tech savvy as a tree stump.

Other layers of security include making it look like someone lives there full time. I went to the courthouse and got a physical address for the acreage. I added a mailbox and then got the township to drop off a trash can and begin trash service. We come here a lot, so there's always tire tracks and signs of activity.

The last layer of security are the property owners on either side of us. We watch each other's places. We hit it off so well with the couple on our South boundary that they have permission to walk our trails whenever they want. I even cut a trail directly to their house.

I have a lady next door at the island , she's renting, she lets her dog go out and he goes all over the place, there are no fences in Sanibel, he crosses over my property, I don't mind, but I do mind the lady walking around my house calling Milo every few days and Milo will not come out until she's left. 0.jpg
