So she likes her new truck, huh.

She doesn't come here.... Yet. So....
She has her own decked out van. Works two jobs and sleeps in the van when the weather gets funky rather than driving home at night. She has a gig at the airport and parks in a restricted area for employees only. The gal has already focused on key fob#2. Dream on girl!Comment

I think she might be focused on driving my vette. She is not familiar with driving a standard shift vehicle though. I told her, "you are not learning to drive a stick in my corvette. Period." She has a small Ford car that is nearly the same color as my "plastic fantastic" Says its her favorite color. That corvettes are her favorite car. Next year I'm having the dealership pick it up for a new heater core install. A $2,000+ job.
Thirty years ago I would have done it myself. Not these days.

She is way to smart for that one. A country gal. Has her own place with two horses. I think her daughter is a rodeo barrel racer. Both are quarter horses. She mentioned that her horse trailer would look nice behind that new truck. Looks like I might once again, be going to Rodeos!

Drove the new truck over to Alliance for breakfast today. WOW! What a cruise mobile. Plush. It just kind of floats along going down the road. The power it has under the hood promises to never balk when pulling a load up one of those long hills on I-77 South. 430bhp. It's a high sitting truck. My gal pal scrambles up and inside effortlessly. I..use a folding plastic steps stool...that is on the end of a rope so I can pull it up and in once I'm seated. my last F-350 SD truck was pretty basic which was fine with me years ago, but, this time around I decided to go with lots of optional equipment instead. I really like the race red color with the black accents. I Live in a (now) somewhat affluent and mostly all white rural township where big 4x4 PU trucks, Jeeps and 4wd vehicles are the norm. "Mister, this is Ford country!"

Ahhhhh...another drive in the red rig today. I tried the onboard system that will automatically back right up to a trailer and put the ball exactly under the hitch on the trailer. SHIT! It works. Still nervous about the self driving mode ...trying that can wait untll I'm cruising the interstate highways. I locked the front hubs for the winter. Locking and unlocking the tailgate from the cab is a neat option. The rear glass having electric defrost, opening and closing, is tits. The 10 speed trans shifts so smoothly that it is not something you can feel at all. Best PU truck I have ever had. If I could have nabbed a dually with a Supercab....Last edited by dinkydow; 12-30-2025, 04:24 PM.👍 1Comment

Wife and I actually name all our vehicles. It makes it easy to communicate. Current vehicles:
2019 Dodge Ram (5.7 Hemi): "Gordy". One of my heroes, G. Gordon Liddy, spoke very highly of the 5.7 liter Dodge Hemi engine. I wanted to name the truck "Gordon" or "Liddy". Wife suggested "Gordy". Perfect!
2014 Subaru Outback: "Snowflake". I made other suggestions like "Lesbian Limo", but those all got shot down in flames. "Snowflake" stuck.
1996 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton: "Old Truck"Comment
